Non-Profits May Meet Online – AGM Deadline Extended

Further to my post last week that recommended Boards and Agencies could meet online during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Province of Ontario has issued a directive allowing it.  Even if your bylaws do not allow online meetings, they are now permitted by law.  AGMs do not have to be held until 90 days after the end of the emergency.  The link is here.

However, you are still required to act as a prudent manager.  You still need to hold your agencies to account for the rules they make and actions they take.  Use your executive committees and get up to speed on Zoom or other online platforms.  It is your duty as a director.
